The external walls are more able to resist nature’s bashing and the thick exterior paint often lasts a lot longer than the wood areas. In fact, they usually get dirty and grubby rather than come away. We use a tough filler and exterior decorator paint to try to ensure the work is less resilient to the changes in temperature and damp. Previously painted iron such as gutters and down-pipes can rust so a metal paint is applied to extend the lifespan.
